This year, Coast of Maine celebrates three decades of growth in our gardens, our communities, and our shared commitment to the earth. For 30 years, we’ve been proud to partner with gardeners, growers, and local retailers who believe that what’s good for the soil is good for all of us.

From the early days of small-batch blends to today’s thriving Growing Good donation program, our roots have deepened through every bag, every season, and every story shared by our loyal customers. As we look back on the people and places that have shaped us, we’re reminded that real growth happens when we grow together.

Where Growing Meets Giving

At Coast of Maine, we believe healthy soil grows more than plants, it grows strong communities.

Through our Growing Good Program, we partner with local retailers to donate organic soils and amendments to schools, community gardens, and nonprofit organizations across the country.

These donations turn outdoor spaces into classrooms, safe havens, and sources of fresh food, creating opportunities for students and neighbors to learn, connect, and thrive.

We also believe in transparency and accountability in the work we do. That’s why we openly share the schools and nonprofits we’ve supported over the years. With more than 1,930 gardens supported in the last five years alone, Growing Good is proof that when we share soil, we’re also sharing hope, knowledge, and the seeds of a brighter future.
