Our Roots
Dig into the history of Coast of Maine.
We believe in nurturing growth beyond your garden’s boundaries. That’s why we’re committed to supporting our community by donating our products to promote both their well-being and the health of the natural world that sustains us all.
At Coast of Maine, we believe healthy soil grows more than plants — it grows strong communities. Through our Growing Good Program, we partner with local retailers to donate organic soils and amendments to schools, community gardens, and nonprofit organizations across the country. These donations turn outdoor spaces into classrooms, safe havens, and sources of fresh food, creating opportunities for students and neighbors to learn, connect, and thrive.
We also believe in transparency and accountability in the work we do. That’s why we openly share the schools and nonprofits we’ve supported over the years. With more than 1,930 gardens supported in the last five years alone, Growing Good is proof that when we share soil, we’re also sharing hope, knowledge, and the seeds of a brighter future.

At Coast of Maine Brands, our commitment extends beyond commerce, aiming to bolster education, engage local retailers, and empower students in making choices that benefit their physical, emotional, and environmental well-being. Rather than a monetary contribution, we are pleased to provide Coast of Maine products to schools, public gardens, and non-profit initiatives.
This donation not only supports your program, it strengthens the bond between the local retailer and the community. It serves as a foundation, nurturing children’s enduring passion for gardening, health, and environmental awareness. In essence, it’s a collective victory for us all.
