For Hanging Baskets:
For hanging baskets up to 16", use ½ to a full bag of 20 dry quart or use ¼ - ½ of a bag of 40 dry quart of Organic & Natural Acadia Blend Potting Soil. (The actual amount of potting soil needed will depend on the size of your plant’s rootball.) Make sure your selected pot(s) or basket(s) have drainage holes. If you are combining different plants, make sure they are good companions (i.e., they like similar amounts of sun or shade and moisture conditions.)
For Planting:
1. Choose a clean pot or container that has drainage holes at the bottom. This will help prevent water from accumulating and reduce root rot.
2. Fill the pot 30-50% full with Organic & Natural Acadia Blend Potting Soil, leaving room to accommodate the plant and watering.
3. Gently remove the plant from its current container and loosen roots.
4. Place the plant in the center of the container, ensuring that it is positioned at the same level as it was in it’s previous container. Adjust soil level, if necessary.
5. Fill the remaining space around the plant with more soil, gently tamping down with your fingers.
6. Water the plant thoroughly, allowing water to seep through the drainage holes. Ensure excess water is draining away and not sitting in the container.
7. Place the potted plant in an appropriate location, considering its light requirements and temperature preferences.
Monitor the moisture level of the soil regularly and water as needed, ensuring the soil remains moist but not waterlogged. Follow specific care instructions for your plant regarding watering frequency, sunlight exposure, and any additional care requirements. Fertilize plants as needed with an organic fertilizer.
