For Hanging Baskets:

For a hanging basket up to 16”, use between 1/4 and 1/3 bag of one cubic foot Bar Harbor Blend. (The actual amount of potting soil needed will depend on the size of your plant’s rootball.) Make sure your selected pot(s) have drainage holes. If you’re combining different plants, make sure they are good companions (i.e., they like similar amounts of sun or shade and moisture conditions).

For Planting:

1. Choose a clean pot or container that has drainage holes at the bottom. This will help prevent water from accumulating and reduce root rot.

2. Fill the pot with Bar Harbor Blend, leaving some space at the top to accommodate the plant and watering.

3. Gently remove the plant from its current container and loosen roots.

4. Place the plant in the center of the container, ensuring that it is positioned at the same level as it was in its previous container. Adjust the soil level if necessary.

5. Fill the remaining space around the plant with more Bar Harbor Blend, gently tamping it down with your fingers.

6. Water the plant thoroughly, allowing water to seep through the drainage holes. Ensure that excess water is draining away and not sitting in the container.

7. Place the potted plant in an appropriate location, considering its light requirements and temperature preferences.

Monitor the moisture level of the soil regularly and water as needed, ensuring that the soil remains moist but not waterlogged. Follow the specific care instructions for your plant regarding watering frequency, sunlight exposure, and any additional care needs.
