In 1951, a small group of San Francisco Bay area nursery owners realized that they could reduce their advertising cost by purchasing advertising as a group rather than individually. This shared media buying not only saved money, it extended the influence of each garden center and showed the group that there really was strength in numbers. This simple beginning ultimately lead to the creation of the nation’s finest retail nursery cooperative, Master Nursery Garden Centers, Inc.
Today, Master Nursery Garden Centers, Inc., is a multi-million dollar member-owned cooperative comprised exclusively of independent retail garden centers.
